Why I am a photographer

I've always been a collector. It started as rocks and leaves found in the backyard, maps and brochures from family trips, a pretty extensive stamp collection, slips of paper, hand written notes, letters and books.

We all love to look through old photographs. Its a big part of who we are as people.   we like to know where we came from, who our ancestors were, what they were like. When I think about some of the things that are irreplaceable, its those old photographs, and the stories and people they show in them.

I love to emulate the feeling of some of those old photographs. How a simple portrait can be so telling.   photograph someone in an environment they work or live in everyday.
